August Full Moon Musings

Luscious lemons fresh from the tree

Tomorrow is the penultimate Full Moon of Summer. As with every Full Moon, there is a portal one can pass through to embrace new beginnings and rebirth. But with every Full Moon, there can also be a theme to that transformation that you can see reflected in multiple aspects of your life.

This Full Moon hearkens to the old adage, "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade." So there may be unexpected, sudden changes either happening now or in the near future. But don't panic - that would actually be the least helpful thing to do. For these plot twists aren't necessarily to derail us, but rather to illuminate our ability and power to transmute life's challenges into life's blessings and keep moving forward. If it's helpful, you can consider them to be messengers. And like another old adage, "Don't shoot the messenger."

So amidst the changes happening in your life, do your best to avoid being reactive, impulsive, and creating unnecessary drama and angst around them. Do your best to go with the flow, stay the course, and have faith that a bigger picture will soon come to light that will help you understand why these changes needed to happen.

This Moon is helping all of us to learn the valuable lesson of facing life's challenges with less blame and resistance and instead embracing them with more grace and gratitude. And looking around, isn't this lesson coming at just the right time?

It's time to make some lemonade.
