Acclimating to the New Energy of the New Year
If you're feeling out of phase today and a little disoriented as we enter the new year, you're not alone. In the process of accepting new beginnings, there is a concurrent process of letting go of what was. And as the previous cycle finishes, the process of being in between becomes a reality.
No longer in the past, not yet in the future, and finding ourselves in the part that is neither as well as both. The part that is present. And for me, I am choosing to acknowledge feeling out of phase and out of sync with gratitude.
Which, to be honest, is way different than a majority of my life where I would've arrived at a point like this with frustration and irritation and done anything to escape the discomfort of not knowing so I could move it along as quickly as possible. But now, I know that being in between is a bridge. One that leads to the certainty and inevitability of a new balance and rhythm, just as sure as the rising and setting of the Sun and Moon.
And if I take my time, I may only have to cross that bridge once.
So while I am in the present, neither as I was nor as I will be, I have the opportunity to invite stillness into my world so I can enjoy Life in this fleeting moment. To invite the lessons that I am to learn in in this new year to fall on the fertile soil of an open mind and an open heart. To be grateful for all that came before and all that that has made possible looking forward. And to savor and love the precious gift of this time and space that unites the two.
I am here. I am alive. I am healthy. I am grateful.
I am...I am.
