Total Lunar Eclipse, November 2022

Blood Moon Total Lunar Eclipse

This morning was the last total Lunar Eclipse until 2025. And with it comes the energy of big-time transformation. Some won't feel a thing. But for many, the experience of these shifting, purifying, and refining energies will be intense to say the least.

Which is actually good thing - big change never comes without big sacrifice.

And not sacrifice in the sense of cruel deprivation or taking something away unjustly, but more accurately the giving up of attachment to that which we’ve outgrown in order to make room for that which we will now grow into, which is actually very just and caring from a higher perspective. The letting go of that which served our Highest Good in the past, but no longer serves it in the present, in order to experience something new that will serve our Highest Good moving forward into the future. A good reminder to keep handy in your back pocket as we navigate the maelstrom of these rapidly, and often unpredictably, changing times.

My tips for not getting swept away?

1. Meditate. Find a practice of stilling and focusing your mind that works for you. When your mind begins to rattle with thoughts of frustration, agitation, and despair, that’s the perfect opportunity for you to consciously choose another option and practice meditation to channel stillness, calmness, and peace to trigger the relaxation response instead of the fight or flight response. The more you practice, the stronger the relaxation response gets, which only improves all other aspects of your life. And remember that there’s not just one way or a few ways to meditate. There are many, many ways to meditate, including seated meditation, guided meditation like the Max Meditation System, gardening, chess, coloring, jigsaw puzzles, etc. Find a practice, or practices, that work for you and then... practice!

2. Get Moving. Instead of allowing the energy to toss you to and fro, why not turn the tables? Before I used to shut down when the external energies got too high and got "overwhelming" or “too much.” But now I know that's the golden opportunity to redirect the energy and practice *choosing* how I want the energy to move through me. Whether it's going to the gym, working on a project around the house, hiking or walking, dancing, etc., don't try to stop the flow...do something active and go with it! And take advantage of the reality of what IS, rather than getting mired down in the illusions of what should be or could be, which will only lead to suffering.

3. Surround yourself with people who will support you to be positive. Negativity and stagnation are normal and happen to all of us. But the key is knowing that we don't have to stay there! During a Full Moon, and especially with a total Lunar Eclipse, there can be an increased tendency towards the "lunacy" of drama, histrionics, complaining, and energizing the victim archetype with how things are happening to you rather than for you. Which when you're around others in the same boat catches like wildfire. And before you know it, you and all those around you are being dragged down into negativity, exhaustion, and getting stuck in a hole of apathy. So stop the fire and hole-digging before it begins. Choose to be around those who are self-aware and accountable to intercepting the drama within themselves AND who will be honest and caring enough to let you know when your drama is crossing the line. Surround yourself with people who inspire you and take full responsibility for their energy.

I hope these 3 tips help, especially in the days following the Lunar Eclipse, but also throughout the rest of your life as general guidelines for taking care of you and building your resilience and adaptability to life’s twists and turns. And if you’re seeking tried and true, lineage tools to help you master being in the flow of life and the captain of your ship, I highly recommend the Life Activation and Empower Thyself Initiation Class to build a bigger, stronger spiritual foundation from which to elevate your physical life above and beyond.
